Cambridge Man Arrested for Trespassing at Shore Medical Center

CAMBRIDGE, MD - A 66-year-old Cambridge man was arrested Friday evening after refusing to leave the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge following his release from care.
Cambridge Police Department officers responded to the medical facility at approximately 10:30 p.m. on September 12, 2025, after receiving reports of a subject who would not leave the premises.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Donald Richard Lauck had been released from medical care but was refusing to depart from the hospital grounds.
Officers made contact with Lauck and informed him that he needed to leave the property immediately. Lauck refused the order and became increasingly agitated, yelling and screaming at hospital staff and law enforcement personnel.
Due to his disruptive behavior and refusal to comply with lawful orders, Lauck was placed under arrest. He was subsequently transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing before being transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections.
Lauck faces two charges in connection with the incident. He has been charged with trespass on private property and disorderly conduct. He is currently being held with no bond set.
The incident highlights ongoing challenges faced by medical facilities in managing patients who refuse to leave after receiving treatment.
