Cambridge Police Investigate Shooting on Race Street

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on the evening of September 18, 2025.

At approximately 8:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Race Street in Cambridge, Maryland, after a ShotSpotter alert indicated multiple gunshots in the area.

Upon arrival, police located six spent .40 caliber shell casings and a bullet fragment. No victims were found at the scene.

Investigators spoke with a witness who was in the area at the time. The witness reported hearing the shots and then seeing a black passenger car speeding away from the location. They believed this vehicle was the intended target.
