Delaware State Police Arrest Harrington Man for Vehicular Assault

GREENWOOD, DE - A Harrington, Delaware, man has been arrested and charged with vehicular assault and DUI following a single-vehicle crash in Greenwood, Delaware, that resulted in serious injuries to two passengers.
On September 26, 2025, at approximately 11:21 p.m., Delaware State Police responded to a crash on Hickman Road near Greenwood, Delaware.
Upon arrival, troopers found a Ford Edge that had overturned. The driver was identified as 27-year-old Ivory Brown of Harrington, Delaware.
According to police, troopers detected an odor of alcohol and observed other signs of impairment while speaking with Brown. He was treated by emergency medical services at the scene but declined further transport to a hospital.
Following Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Brown was taken into custody.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Ford Edge was traveling on Hickman Road when it veered off the roadway, entered a ditch, and overturned. Two passengers, a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both from Milford, were ejected from the vehicle. They were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Three other passengers, two 19-year-old men and a 6-year-old child, sustained minor injuries and were also taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Brown was transported to Troop 5 and charged with multiple offenses, including two felony counts of Vehicular Assault First Degree and three counts of Vehicular Assault Second Degree.
He was also charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child While Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under the Influence, and Driving While Suspended or Revoked, among other traffic violations.
Following his arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 3, Brown was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $10,402 secured bond.
