Laurel Man Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges Following Traffic Stop

LAUREL, DE - A 23-year-old Laurel, Delaware man was arrested Monday afternoon after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and a stolen firearm with an altered serial number.
Laurel Police officers conducted the traffic stop on September 22nd, 2025, at approximately 2:10 PM in the area of S. Central Avenue and Market Street. Officers had observed a Nissan Altima displaying a registration plate that was suspended for no insurance and active warrants.
The driver, identified as Javier White of Laurel, Delaware, attempted to park and exit the vehicle when officers approached. He was detained without incident due to the suspended registration and active warrants for his arrest.
A search incident to arrest revealed 94 grams of marijuana along with a loaded Glock 19 Gen firearm equipped with a high capacity magazine. Investigation determined the serial number on the firearm had been altered. Further investigation revealed the weapon was stolen out of Seaford, Delaware.
White faces multiple charges including Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Not Related to Personal Use Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), Receiving a Stolen Firearm (Class F Felony), and Possession of a Weapon with a Removed, Obliterated or Altered Serial Number (Class D Felony). Additional charges include Manufacture/Deliver/PWID Controlled Substance (Class D Felony), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Class D Felony), Possession of Large Capacity Magazine During Commission of a Felony (Class B Felony), and Criminal Trespass Third Degree.
White was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #2 and issued a $49,500 cash bail. He was transported to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of posting bond.
