Local Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

CAMBRIDGE, MD - Cambridge Police Department officers arrested a local resident on an active bench warrant on September 15, 2025. The arrest occurred at approximately 12:16 p.m. as part of routine law enforcement operations.
Nasir Dewayne Demby, a 20-year-old Cambridge, Maryland resident, was taken into custody on an outstanding Dorchester County District Court bench warrant. The warrant was issued for violation of probation related to original charges of controlled dangerous substance possession, excluding cannabis.
Following the arrest, Demby was processed by Cambridge Police Department officers. He was subsequently transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections.
Court records indicate that no bond was set for the defendant at the time of his detention.
The arrest represents standard procedure for individuals with active warrants in the jurisdiction. The Cambridge Police Department continues to work with county court systems to ensure outstanding legal matters are addressed through proper channels.
