QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY, MD - Sheriff Gary Hofmann of the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff was sworn in as the President of the Maryland Sheriffs' Association (MSA).

"I am honored to serve as president for a second time, having previously held this role in 2011," said Sheriff Hofmann. "I look forward to leading our association in the upcoming year, strengthening law enforcement across the state, advocating for resources for our deputies and staff, and collaborating with lawmakers to advance public safety."
Sheriff Hofmann was sworn into his new role by MACO President Commissioner Jack Wilson. The ceremony was also attended by Commissioner Phil Dumenil and took place on September 10, 2025, during the annual Professional Development Seminar, which is jointly hosted by the Maryland Sheriffs' Association and the Maryland Chiefs of Police Association.
