Tilghman Island Woman Assaults Deputy Then Released on her own Personal Recognizance

TILGHMAN, MD - A Tilghman, Maryland, woman was arrested on October 1, 2025, after assaulting a Talbot County Sheriff's deputy.


Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office initially responded to a location on Tilghman Island for an assault investigation. The victim identified the suspect as Bonnie Lou Jester, 57, and informed deputies that she had left the area on foot.


Authorities later located Jester walking on Tilghman Island Road near Foster Avenue. While attempting to make contact, Jester physically assaulted one of the deputies.


Following the incident, Jester was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, Fail to Obey Reasonable and Lawful Order and Resisting Arrest. She was then transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing and an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.


Jester was then released on her own personal recognizance.
